Sharpening

Bettertons employ Joewell-accredited technicians with over 30 years of experience to provide top-notch scissor sharpening. Their service is available for all brands of hairdressing scissors and thinners.

The sharpening fee is £25.00 per pair. This includes all necessary parts, VAT, and return postage. For private addresses, they use Royal Mail ‘signed for’ delivery, and for salon addresses, they use a courier service. If you prefer a more secure return, you can opt for Royal Mail Special Delivery for an additional £5.00 per package. Please allow 7 to 10 days for the return process.

Bettertons suggest using a padded envelope and opting for ‘signed for’ delivery to ensure your scissors are well-protected during transit. If possible, please print and complete their sharpening form to include with your scissors.

Note that Royal Mail does not provide insurance for packages sent via ‘signed for’ delivery. If you require insurance, please inquire with the Post Office when sending your package.

Bettertons recommend servicing your scissors every 1 to 2 years, depending on usage. If your scissors have been dropped or damaged, please have them inspected immediately as damaged blades can pull, rip, and fold hair, leading to a poor cutting experience for your clients.
